Meet Taeler, the Heart and Soul Behind FTLO Design
Hello, I’m Taeler, the founder of For The Love Of (FTLO) Design, where our mission is to bridge the gap between your dream home and the reality of creating it. My journey into the world of architecture and design was fueled by a deep-rooted passion for seeing ideas come to life. With a Bachelor's and Master's in Architecture under my belt, I've spent over a decade immersed in Melbourne's high-end residential architecture scene.
However, it was the hands-on experience of building my first family home, Adeliene House, that truly awakened my love for the construction process. The daily problem-solving, the joy of being my own client, and the tangible act of creating space were revelations. It showed me a side of architecture that a traditional practice hadn't offered. This realisation led me to develop Morelle House, my first project as both designer and project manager. The year-long journey of bringing Morelle House to life was transformative, confirming my passion for guiding the construction process from conception to completion.
Driven by this newfound purpose, I ventured beyond the conventional architectural path to establish FTLO Design. At FTLO, I wanted to specialise in turning dream homes into reality, offering guidance, design, and project management services for renovations and new builds alike. I now am fortunate enough to have a few more personal projects, including Gumtree House, Fler House, and Napoleon House (under construction).
My dream is to provide everyday people access to the architectural world in a collaboration process. I understand firsthand the desire to be deeply involved in creating one’s home, a sentiment echoed by many who wish to navigate the journey without the full financial commitment to an architect. This led me to conceive a mentoring approach, empowering clients with architectural insight and support tailored to their needs and budgets.
I hope that FTLO Design will embody a collaborative ethos, filling the essential space between draftsmen, builders, and your vision. My goal is to democratise access to high-quality design, ensuring that your journey to your dream home is as fulfilling and engaging as mine has been. With so many projects completed and plans to develop one project a year personally I am forever learning its challenges, insights, and ‘little nuggets’ of wisdom along the way. What better way to share my knowledge then to help mentor people through this very complex process.
